The hotel is conveniently located right off our travel route, making it easy to access, which is always a win for an avid marathon runner like myself who values efficiency in travel. While I appreciated the friendly staff, I did notice that the hotel seemed to be understaffed, as the check-in process was handled by just one person. Marquis, who attended to my concerns during my stay, was exceptionally friendly and did his best to address the issues I faced, making me feel understood despite the chaos. On the plus side, the room itself was equipped with free WiFi and laptop-friendly workspaces, which allowed me to remain connected while enjoying my downtime. Unfortunately, the overall cleanliness of the hotel fell short, and I encountered some rather unpleasant aspects during my stay, including odors in common areas and other guests smoking nearby, which detracted significantly from the experience. Despite the 24-hour fitness center being a solid offering, I'd suggest some serious investment in maintenance to ensure it aligns with the standards expected by fitness enthusiasts like myself. While the hotel presents a few advantages such as a decent breakfast and essential amenities, it requires considerable improvements in cleanliness and staffing efficiency to create a truly remarkable experience. For those looking to explore Columbus or just need a convenient stopover, Quality Inn & Suites South-Obetz may serve its purpose, but don’t expect an oasis of comfort and cleanliness.
